Gabriela Gola – Vocal and Clarinet

In the form of questions and answers, we present the person Gabrysia and reveal some interesting information about her musical dreams and experiences.

When did you really feel that music is very important to you?

I remember that in primary school, me and my best friend made a small performance in front of the class, and we were singing. We felt as the stars. The best work has started in the junior homeschool. We had a great teacher who organized concerts with big public.

You’re always busy. How do you manage to combine rehearsals, studies, concerts and private life?

Now I am studying on….. And sometimes it is hard to play in the band and be a student. But if you really like what you do there is no problem.

How did your loved ones react to your decision?

Lucky for me, my loved ones support me. Family and friends wish me the best, so it helps me very much and allows me to constantly develop my skills.

You play the guitar, clarinet and kazoo but you choose to sing. why?

Yes, I also play on instruments but in The One Ahead I am a singer. Why? Because singing is closest to my heart. It releases my emotions and makes me happy.

What is your patent for writing lyrics?

Writing cleans out my head. In the beginning it was hard to create anything, but now I just sit down and spill out my feelings

Do you have any favorite singers? What do you appreciate them for?

Music is too beautiful to limit to one genre or one favourite singer. There is plenty of talented people in the industry and I try to find inspiration in many artists. Actually I looped in my headphones vocalists such as: Dawid Podsiadło, Natalia Przybysz, Lianne La Havas, Cory Henry.

What do you like best about music?

Everything, I guess… From words to sounds and tones. Every emotion and therapeutic side of music.

Why did you decide to participate in this project?

Boys (Barry, Adam, Jurek) offered me to make together band practice. I didn’t knew where it can lead but I always wanted to be in a band so I agreed. After first meeting i knew that I want to join them because I felt good in their company and it has remained so until now. I hope they feel the same 🙂

What is your biggest dream about music?

Beside of releasing with The One Ahead, I dream about a solo album. I think it’s all ahead of me. I want make great performances for wonderful people.

What from your point of view connects you and what divides you?

We share passion to music, to create our own music and this is really happening. I am very happy and satisfied. We may not be same age but it doesn’t matter because our energy match at same level!

What is your favorite song from your album?

I guess it’s Fire – because of energy it has and sound of it, I really like it, additionally this is one of our first songs and I have some kind of sentiment for it.

What makes you like this song the most?

I really felt this one, you know.. Writing lyrics was really natural, it just bumped to my head so I poured it up to paper. Of course I also love Freedman, Smile, Be mine, Nie bój się… Well I guess I just really like this album 🙂
