Behind the name The One Ahead stands a group of musicians and passionate people for whom the stage is their second home. Together we create a sound that comes alive with concerts and shared energy.
The band ‘The One Ahead‘ was formed in 2015 in Lower Silesia. The full lineup crystallized in 2017. From that moment on, they could work full steam ahead on the remaining parts of their own songs and recordings for their debut album Go!. How was the band name created?
The name “The One Ahead” was created after a classic brainstorming in 2018. Its meaning can be translated as “front group”. To what you can add different ideologies … and that is why the name is so interesting – it is ambiguous. Each team member can interpret it in their own way.
What do they play?
The One Ahead plays what really comes from the soul and heart – both of each musician individually and of the entire crew together. The diversity of age, characters and musical inspirations makes their work unpredictable and full of contrasts. In their songs, rock meets pop and blues, there are also reggae influences and subtle symphonic elements that give the whole thing depth and space.
The first lyrics – both in Polish and English – were written by Gabrysia Gola. After she left the band in 2023, the role of lyricist was taken over by Szczepan Wojsa, who also joined the band as a new vocalist. His strong, rock voice opened the way for the band to a heavier and more expressive sound. In 2024, Karina Semków joined the band, enriching the music with hypnotizing choirs and vocals that give you real goosebumps. Thanks to English-language lyrics, The One Ahead reaches an increasingly wider audience – also abroad.
