Bass guitar - From a young age, my dad instilled in me a love of music. I learned to play many instruments, from classical guitar to keyboards to drums, but it was the bass guitar that became my biggest passion. Some people think it's an instrument that doesn't contribute much to a song, but it's only when it's gone that you realize how untrue that statement is. That's why I love the rhythm section.
Czarek Trocewicz plays bass guitar in The One Ahead. Together with Barry van der Biezen, they form the foundation of every groove. In addition, Czarek is involved in video production.
Below, Czarek’s look and musical experience in the form of questions and answers.
How did your parents instill in you the need to make music?
Dad attended music school from an early age, later he played in a band with his brothers. When my brother and I were 6 years old, we got the first Keyboard. On this instrument, under the watchful eye of my father, I learned the basics of music. Over time, I was able to determine what music direction suits me. My parents have always supported me and they still support me in my hobby.
Why did you choose the bass guitar? you also play drums and ordinary guitar.
I always had a lot of instruments at home. Electric guitar, acoustic, drums, keyboards. I don’t like to limit myself, I like to try new things and experiment. I started my adventure with a bass guitar in a random way. There was simply no bass player in the band. Only after some time I started to like this instrument … it stayed with me until today 馃檪
Do you have any favorite artists or does it change over time?
Guns’n Roses, Led Zeppelin, The Offspring. There are many famous bands that I like and respect for their work. New bands are formed all the time, they make different music, I also try to listen to less popular bands, which really create something cool, rock, indie rock, blues.
If you could choose: what equipment would you like to play on?
Hmm, there is no perfect equipment for everything, but if I had a choice I would aim for an additional Ampeg sound system. Guitar? I always wanted to play Fender until I finally became the owner of Jazz Bass. I would choose Rickenbacker as the second guitar.
Is it easier to play covers or your own songs?
It’s much easier to play your own songs, you don’t have the sound of the covered song somewhere behind your head, you can fully devote yourself to your emotions and pour it on the strings.

What do you like more: playing concerts or working in a studio?
My biggest dream has always been to release my own album, which is now being fulfilled. Playing a concert in front of millions of people.Studio work is sometimes monotonous, but it’s always worth it. I want to play, make music, record. The effects are enough reward for the effort. Concerts are something quite different. This feeling when you get on stage is beyond words. The opportunity to show your music to the audience is amazing. By the way, you can spend time and joke with the crew The One Ahead.
What was the most difficult for you during the studio recording?
Record each track separately. Repeating one song many times, because the finger has escaped somewhere and there is bad sound. One song was recorded the first time, and the next one – after the tenth attempt, still doesn’t sound. Now I know that sometimes it is worth letting go and try the next day with a fresh head.
Why did you decide to participate in this project?
I just like to play, I came for the first rehearsal and I stayed permanently, when something comes out of it, you have the motivation to set goals for yourself.
What from your point of view connects you and what divides you?
We are connected by as many things as we are divided. Everyone has a different approach due to different ages, but is this bad? I don鈥檛 think so. We always find the golden mean, everyone has different experiences, which has a positive effect on work efficiency. After all, is music interested in age? I don鈥檛 think so. When playing, we are like one organism.
