Adam Jaworowicz
Guitar - When I play the guitar, I forget about the rest of the world. Then, all that matters is the music, the harmony, and the sound of the instruments. It's my favorite way to relax.
Adam Jaworowicz plays lead, solo, and rhythm guitar for The One Ahead. Known as the musical professor, he crafts many of the melodies and frequently delivers the perfect hooks for their songs.

How did your adventure with music and guitar start?
In elementary school I had several friends who played instruments and sang. Sometimes I looked at them with curiosity but then I did not feel a great desire to play. When at the age of 16 I started training mountain canoeing, it turned out that my trainer and now friend Bogdan Sztuba plays the guitar and sings beautiful songs, e.g. Starego Dobrego Małżeństwa and also his own compositions. As the trainer was a great role model for me, I became interested in playing the guitar. At the beginning I tried to play songs that I heard from the trainer but with some time my interests expanded. was interested in how two guitars can harmonize with each other with no false note. And so began my adventure with the search for different sounds. I bought several materials to learn the playing (including Leszek Cichoński’s School of Play) and studied them bravely.I was also influenced by music workshops (Blues nad Beaver). I participated there three times and I had the opportunity to directly contact the best Polish musicians (e.g. Jacek Królik, Artur Lesicki, Marek Napiórkowski, Marek Raduli, and Leszek Cichoński).
Do you have favorite artists?
Among my favorite artists I can mention such as: Gary Moore, Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, Tomasz Gwinciński, Jacek Królik, Grzegorz Skawiński, Jerzy Styczyński, Marek Napiórkowski, Artur Lesicki.
If you had a choice and could get a guitar, which one would you choose – which one do you dream about and why?
I currently have a Music Man Axis guitar and Fender Stratocaster SRV. If I were to be tempted by another instrument, it would definitely be Gibson. I think these are great classic instruments that are worth the money.
This is not the first band you play in, you have the most experience in this matter.
In my past I played in several different bands as well as with various artists. In team work, it is the hardest to reconcile the characters of different musicians and achieve a common vision for the band. For example, someone likes to play concerts and someone else to record in the studio and have fun imposing different soundtracks. Someone is more passionate about blues and somebody is more rock. All this must be reconciled.
What do you like more: playing concerts or working in a studio?
I used to play more concerts and it gave me the greatest pleasure. We are currently recording more in the studio and I must admit that it also gives great satisfaction. To sum up, I will say that it is now half and half.
Do you remember any slip-up or funny situation at the concert?
I used to have a technical slip-up playing with The Ray. We drove several hundred kilometers to the concert, set up the equipment on stage and suddenly my guitar amplifier simply stopped working. I had to play completely without him – connecting in a linear way. And that meant quite bad sound. But somehow we played the concert and overall it didn’t go bad. 🙂
What is your biggest dream about music?
My dream is to play nice melodies and it is very difficult.
Why did you decide to participate in this project?
I decided to take part in the project “The One Ahead” because wonderful people are involved. We’ve known Barry since 2006. He is my great friend and I am happy to watch how he develops as a musician, sound engineer, music producer and recording studio owner. We have known Jerzy since 2011, when we played several blues for the first time in a closed concert. Since then, our paths have converged and it is so today. I really appreciate him for his blues-rock passion and “musical ear”. Czarek, Bartek and Gabi are younger generation but at their best. We know each other a bit shorter but we all broadcast on similar waves.
What from your point of view connects you and what divides you?
Certainly, we share a common vision in what direction the team is developing. We are separated by, for example, age, but it can also be an advantage because thanks to this the whole band has a wider perspective on the music being created.
